Emergency Preparedness

Stay prepared, stay safe. Find resources, tips, and guidance to help your household be ready for any emergency in the Winchester Overlook community.

Be Ready Before Disaster Strikes

Utah sits along the Wasatch Fault, making earthquakes a real possibility for our community. Fires, severe storms, and power outages can happen at any time. A few minutes of planning today can make all the difference when every second counts.

Use the resources on this page to build your household emergency plan, assemble supplies, and practice the Drop, Cover, and Hold On technique with your family.

Prepare Now

Make a Plan

Create a family emergency plan. Identify safe spots at home, establish meeting points, and prepare emergency supplies. ShakeOut.org offers free step-by-step planning guides.

Practice Your Plan

A plan is only as good as your ability to follow it. Rehearse with your household so everyone knows what to do when the shaking starts or an emergency occurs.

Build an Emergency Kit

Stock a 72-hour kit with water (one gallon per person per day), non-perishable food, flashlights, batteries, first-aid supplies, medications, and important documents.

Join the Great ShakeOut

The Great ShakeOut is an annual worldwide earthquake drill held every October. Register your household and practice "Drop, Cover, and Hold On" alongside millions of participants.
